Comments: Important and rare mid-19th century Locomotive Manufacturer chromolithograph advertising sign. A number of companies showed off their finest products with these spectacular feats of lithographic art. This is one of the best, though the condition is relatively poor. It still conveys the conception of this fine era of American advertising. In better condition it would be over $2500.

Condition: Fair, laid down on cardboard, long tear from top to bottom at left side, partially touched in with color there, evidence of soil and water stain, though colors are excellent overall. In an older cherry wood frame with slight scuffing. Despite these flaws it is a very appealing rare advertising print, because the color is so well preserved.
