Item Number: 5802

Title: "Must we beat Japan first"

Artist: Mead Schaeffer

Date: 1943

Size: 22"x28"

Comments: Rare poster promoting the Saturday Evening Post magazine issue for Oct. 24, 1942 with a powerful image of American soldier in Pacific jungle with full gear. Saturday Evening Post posters were only designed for use a single week and put up in store windows, very few survived. The artwork compares favorably with any US Gov't poster of the War, but then again, Mead Schaffer was one of the best WWII poster artists!

Price: $495

Condition: A-, linen mounted, faint evidence of folds as issued.
