Item Number: P588
Comments: Fine example of American chromolithoraphy in imitation of fine art painting, this chromo is mounted on canvas affixed to its original wood "stretcher". Classic bucolic rural scene, it shows that even in the 1860s many Americans were wistful for the old fashioned country ways. Printed by Bencke and Scott, NYC.
Condition: Fine overall, printed on paper mounted on canvas, good color, there is a slight break in the paper in the sky in the center, quite small, but not through the canvas. On its original wood stretcher, but not framed.
